WHAT SERVICES DO FIRST LUX OFFER?

We offer industry-specific permanent recruitment services for both employers and job hunters. This is typically across the Lighting & Controls industries, but we also specialise in the wider electrical sectors. We pride ourselves in connecting the very best talent with a wide range of opportunities across the spectrum of the industry, whether that be sales, design or management.

WHAT EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE?

We first began recruiting in the Lighting sector back in 2013 – well over a decade ago. However, the First Lux team have over 75 years of recruitment experience between us, so rest assured, you will be in good hands!

Not only have we recruited in the Lighting sector for over a decade, but we also have direct industry experience to call upon, meaning we already have an understanding of your business and the challenges you face each and every day. HOW DO YOU SOURCE & VET YOUR CANDIDATES?

Our candidates are sourced through a variety of methods. However, we believe that the best candidates are those who come highly recommended by others. We therefore tend to rely on good old-fashioned head-hunting, gathering trusted referrals by word of mouth more than any other form of candidate sourcing.

But of course, we also utilise our vast database of existing candidates as well as the connections we have built up on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, where we advertise our roles to attract further candidate options.

All our candidates are thoroughly screened and reference-checked before they arrive at your door for an interview. Whilst we try our very best to meet our candidates face-to-face, this isn’t always possible. However, we always conduct comprehensive telephone or video interviews in order to ensure we fully understand our candidates’ skills, experience and personality fit.

WHAT DOES THE PROCESS LOOK LIKE ONCE WE GIVE YOU A VACANCY?

The short answer is – we don’t have a set process. This is because our priority is to work around you and tailor a completely bespoke approach to your requirements and timescales. However, we do advise visiting you at your premises as a starting point. This allows us to absorb and soak up your working environment and company culture. We know it’s really important that the candidates we introduce not only have the skills your require, but will also fit straight in and get along with the rest of your team. It also means we can have a convenient, in-depth discussion on your own turf and ensure we have a thorough understanding of your requirements by the time we leave. You’ll be amazed at what can be added to a job spec just by walking and talking around your premises!

We will then go to work, sourcing and selecting a handful of the best qualified candidates and present them to you for consideration. From there, we will manage the full interview process for you, ensuring both parties are kept up to date at all times and that everyone knows where they need to be and when! If you then decide to make an offer to one of our candidates, we will negotiate this on your behalf and work with you to achieve the right result. Successful recruitment is an art form – one that requires professional consultation, regular communication and competent management. That is where we come in.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?

We won’t invoice you a penny until a First Lux candidate begins employment with your company. Our fees are typically calculated as a percentage of their annual salary, but we are also happy to negotiate a fixed fee if you prefer the security of knowing exactly what you’ll pay before negotiating any package with your chosen candidate. Rest assured, all terms of business will be thoroughly discussed with you before any recruitment process begins and there will be no hidden charges further down the line. It’s also important to note that we work on a success-only basis, which essentially means it’s free to see CVs and interview our candidates.

WHAT HAPPENS IF A CANDIDATE DOESN’T WORK OUT?

We will always agree a period of rebate or free replacement options with our clients before any recruitment process begins.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST FOR A CANDIDATE TO USE YOUR SERVICES?

Our services are entirely free for candidates and job hunters, so you will never be charged. Recruitment agencies are paid by employers and organisations once the successful candidate they introduce starts a new role.

We can offer advice on CV writing, interview tips, help you manage the interview process and keeping in touch on a frequent basis about suitable opportunities.
